help with breeding...

so ive been reading and reading for almost a week now and im getting all kinds of mixed answers
so i have 3 feminized mothers and i have 3 feminized clones from those mothers i want to take the pollen from the clones so i can get some seeds from the mothers would it be better to cross that pollen back to its mother or to another strain? there all good stable strains from attitude. i would much rather have the same genitics i bought from attitude but not sure if its a good idea to breed clone of mother back to mother thinking it might just be a bunch of hermis.

if you use pollen from a mother/clone 'set', you get S1 offspring
i have done that myself, not intentionally, it just wasn't a stable plant
but some of the offspring have been quite good, seeds were free
i think most will tell S1's are more likely to show unstable traits than a cross between unrelated plants
on the other hand, if you have a very special plant that you want preserve, it might be worth a shot

how you going to get the pollen? force hermi with colloidal sliver or something like Tiresias mist ?

if you want the same genetics then keep cloning them. Selfing the clones or crossing the clones with each other will produce offspring with a lot of variation. If you want to spend the time to sort through the offspring and select out the best then thats fine, but my opinion is that its best to find another strain with good genetics raise them from seed and select out some good males to cross them with.

yea im using colloidal sliver im just being a cheap ass don't want to buy seeds again. and i dont have any males everything i got is feminized seems to be the only thing you can get now on the strains i want

so in your opinion self crossing wouldn't be as stable as crossing pineapple express with purple wreck? or is it about the same im just gonna have to weed out the undesirables .

i also have a nice Frisian dew i would love to cross with #1 stunk or pinapple both early finishing outdoor plants

my breeding experience is minimal, but i think the consensus is that a selfed pollinated plant will be riskier, recessives more likely
are all recessives bad? probably not, some could be gems
thing is you can selectively fertilize each bud with a different set of pollen, it's the paintbrush method
and the seeds will stack up quickly, i've got crosses/seeds i'll never live to grow, just too many!

penny wise pound foolish. you will spend more in selfing, producing your own seed, and selecting out the best progeny just so you can clone them again (or go through more generations of selfing to produce seed).
