help with drainage setup and a.c

so im almost finished with my grow room, its 16x14x7.

im working on coming up with a dtw irrigation plan, and probably figuring out something with a.c, as im sure mine is too small now

so theres some limitations with my room, seeing as its in my basement. i wanted to run rockwool, but i dont have enough height for tables, and now dont even have a way to get the tables into the basement if i did.

so what to do? i could run 6 3 gallon pots of coco per 4x4 using floraflex platform drain, or i could probably get 4x4 flood trays and probably build a small stand under them and run plumbing underneath?

any downsides or insight into this? what do you think would work best?

and as for the a.c, i have a 12k btu window unit cut into the basement door, im estimating im going to need 25k btu of cooling, should i just add to my window a.c? or get rid of it and install a mini split?

The above system will work great, it's easy to get into small places and take out if need be also very expandable.

Do not use a window AC mini-split is king with cannabis indoor growing due to the sealed nature of it. It's not connected to the otuside other than a hopefully sealed lineset to the outdoor head.

You can calculate how much BTU you're going to need using this calculator:

As for supporting the canopy you can use "Task Support Rods" which are easily purchased in bulk from most hardware stores or big box stores depending where you're located. The netting can be directly suspended from the poles using zip-ties and easily taken down or reset without any permanent fasteners, this will allow you to change the setup as needed..

Don't forget to get a big dehumidifier for that space, you're going to want to look into QUEST 225 or even a Quest 305, don't poo your pants when you see the price, it's worth it and can help keep your environment dialed in and also prevent mold/mildew by keeping the humidity down.

Kill it bro I'm wanting to see an update.

appreciate the response, and ill deffinitely look into the task support rods, thats actually something i had that was going to be on the punch list

whats your stance on the drainage issue? run floraflex platforms and coco in 3 gallon pots, id be limited to 6 pots per 4x4 area (with a total of eight 4x4 areas)

or get 4x4 flood trays, and run rockwool. id run 16 cubes and have to build something to raise it up, and run drainage lines with inline t's to an inline pump to waste

in the pic the big box on the floor is a quest dual 155, im actually only going to be running 8 660 watt leds. since it seems like im going to be getting a 3 ton a.c my humidity should be in check, thank you for the good advice!

I vote using the flood trays and stand under them to drain into. This is what I do 3x3 tray in a 4x4x8 space. My plumbing is dead center of the tray straight down into the tote. Fan placed open front facing, 2nd fan blowing down from ceiling height.

any reason you have it that high besides the buckets underneath?

i would have to have it a lot shorter, and hook a drain pipe up to it, think thats doable?
