help with drying

i hang it in the closet and it seems dry after 5 days then i have it in paper bags laying flat with a crack of air getting in. my question, how long should i leave it in the paper bag before jarring it? also does the hay smell come from the bags, when i squeeze the weed it smells fruity but u gotta squeeze it.

What i do is hang for 3-5 days (depending on bud size) then instead of bagging them, i put them into one of my PS3 boxes and every couple hours burp them and shake em about (gingerly might i add) for roughly 5 days then jar em and burp. Once jarred i cure for about a month. Give or take, but by this time i start smoking the buds since they're nice and ready.

Don't squeeze your buds! You'll break the trichs and the thc will degrade quickly

Paper bags work and no noticeable smell difference. Make sure to flip the bags every day so it's not just drying one side and jar at your discretion

the hay smell comes from a few things, one is early harvesting bud, if you dont let it flower long enoug its going to smell like hay no matter what you do, another is letting it dry to fast, my bud usually take at least 7 days to fully dry sometimes 10, trying lettin them dry a bit loner next time before jarring , hope this helps
