So this is my first season growing and while growing my plants all looked good and smelled wonderful
Here is a pic of one of the buds that i harvested. Just showing pic to show I didnt grow garbage.

I've read all these different drying and curing methods and still cant get things right. The last plant i harvested i put in my new grow room which is about 5x5. I put a little space heater in there and turned it to low. Also have a little fan in there too. The Temps in the room range from 74-68 and the RH ranges from 45%-55%. The buds have been in that room for 4-5 days and feel nice and dry but dont stink they way they should.
Does the smell come out in the curing(jarring) process, or should my buds stink before putting them in jars.

The first plant i harvested turned all sour after i put into jars and then later into the garbage.

The whole growing part of my first season went pretty good all in all.
But this fucking drying and curing shit is fucking pissing me off. I'm about to start my first indoor grow but If I cant dry and cure my buds properly then its just going to be a waste of time and money.

HELP ME!

The smell can come back strong after curing, usually when I dry mine slowly indoors the smell is strong and gets stronger in the jar but I have had to dry in a shed outside where it was hot and dried quickly and the smell still came back and is impressive. Hope it works out for you. Keep the good vibes going (your plants obviously had good vibes looking that beautiful) :-)

Some strains don't have a lot of smell to them. I've noticed that after jarring and curing for a couple weeks or so when you just smell out of the jar you don't get much odor but if you take a bud out and break it open you get a much stronger smell.

How long till smell is strong again?

I dry on quick cure racks, every year for years.
This year we went from the racks to 5 gallon buckets with air tight lids.
Each 5 gallon bucket is then burped and opened daily for a week or longer to watch for clumping, molding out.

Question is now that they are dry and "Curing" should I take the bud out of the bucket put in turkey bags and suck the air out then put back in buckets?

Im obviously freaking out also, and as a medicinial user, provider for a club im not embarrased to admit I have PTSD, fear and anxiety normally, ehe..

PS: I use food grade buckets from the survival store. They are produced to store food for 8 years.
