I need to to know why my stem isn't turing like wood, does that mean its still not ready to harvest? This is my first Groww, and even if its about to be ready what do i do next what are final steps before harvest

There are tons of threads on when to harvest, just dig a little. The pinned posts are good, too.

You need a 60-100x microscope, or a lupe in that range. Look at the trichomes on the buds. When they're mostly cloudy, it's time. If you like more of a head high, harvest when they're more clear. If you like a body stone, wait until they're cloudy with some turning amber. If you're not sure, you can harvest a top bud and let the rest of the plant continue. This will let you sample different maturities.

This won't make sense to you now. The best description I've seen is: wait till your buds look like buds (what you expect to see bagged). After you've seem some plants mature, you'll know what I mean. If you wait for them to turn mostly cloudy, the buds will look like something you could imagine seeing dried and bagged. You'll know how that compares to more juvenile buds. (But, when you're looking at juvenile buds, it's hard to imagine what I'm talking about.).

I think the tendency of new growers is to harvest too soon. It's hard to wait. Get a microscope and follow your trichs.

Yeah the stem doesnt have much to do with harvesting..

Its all in the tricomes as posted above. you can also look for most of the pistils to turn amber, and calyxes to be fully swollen, but still the tricomes is the best way to tell for sure.

When u pick is up to you, depending on what kind of high your looking for. cloudy will give you more of an energetic type high, more amber will give you a couch lock type high.

There arnt really any 'final steps' just harvest when you think its ready and watch for mold, yellow/brown leaves growing out of a section of the cola where the rest are green is almost certain to be mold in the centre and will get worse.
