well Im not an expert nor a i a newbie but i have done a few grows and i have always waited to just over half of them turned brown. However the best time is after the Trichomes are filled with resin... and are erect.

hope that helps

sorry to sound stupid but what is a trichome
here's a novel thought go read a cannabis cultivation book ( also has more accurate info) and quite asking repeat questions that have been anwsered 5 billion times, hell even yahoo has your anwser your looking for, if you cant cover the general bases of cannabis cultivation then stick to buying it. If your to lazy to read alittle then growing will never be easy for you

Pistil color has almost zero relation to when a flowering plant is ready to harvest. It's all about the trichs. Get a magnifying glass or a jeweler's loupe and look at the trichs. That is the only true way to know if it's ready or not. Again, for the 5 billionth time, PISTILS DO NOT SIGNIFY RIPENESS!
