help with lighting

I'm useing a 75 watt hps and a 4 ft shop light. Right now there's only 1plant under them. Will these lights be enough to support my plant for both stages if not one or the other. Can anyone give me some advice.

More is always better. The 75 will be fine for a medium sized plant. Just figure the goal is at least 1g/watt. So figure 60-75% of that being a first grow unless your blessed and u can get a idea if its enough light or not for you.

it would do for 1 plant 4 now but save up a 100 bucks and get a 400 hps and that should be good for 4-6 plants

Ok thanks ill look into getting bigger lights but when I do should I switch them out or just add to it like put one next to the other one.
