1.yes u still need to check ph, so get a ph pen. theres only ph up and down, available at any hydroponic store.
2.when it comes to nutes its personal preference. all nutes claim to be better than others. they will all work. GH is cheapest.
3 germination steps i use

1) soak seed in water until tap root is out 1/4 inches
2) place seed inside of a damp rockwool cube(tap root facing down) , only water when cube start to dry out ( cube should be in a humid environment 90%+ )( expose to fresh air every 24 hours for 5 to 10 mins)
3) a couple days later they should root and be ready to go.

no, look into getting a 400w mh/hps light if you got the space and proper cooling.

I am trying something a little different. The last few batches of seeds went into rapid rooter cubes and after a couple weeks went into net pots and into a veg unit, strictly hydroponic except for the rooters. The rooters became nasty and were a mistake after a few weeks in veg because they were rotten soggy blobs with roots all entangled with the brown mess. So this time I germed the seeds in paper towels and then straight into cups of Light Warrior soil. In a couple days I have 100% healthy sprouts and am now trying to figure out when to put the seedlings into net pots and start feeding. Probably at the 8 day mark, when the second set of leaves fill out. Guessing that a very light nute mix in a veg unit might work. If I can get this Tor browser to post pics I'll start a grow journal. Good luck with your rockwool cubes, that may be my next technique if this one doesn't pan out.
