When growing in ffof should you still use cal-mag during first few weeks? I mean will the soul already be sufficient? Or is cal-mag feeding a must no matter the medium?

Depends on water source. Tap water, calmag not really necessary, although it wouldn’t hurt. RO/distilled, definitely need calmag.

You don't need calmag right from the start. You may not even need it at all depending on your water source and nutrients you'll be using.

Some strains I grow I need to add calmag at the very end, but usually, I don't need any at all. My water is drawn directly out of the lake I live on. Apparently it has enough calcium for my plants.

With calmag, it's best to let the plants tell you if you need it or not. That won't be early in the grow typically.

It can take a few weeks for cal mag deficiencies to present themselves. So it may or may not be required from the start. My suggestion is to use it on some plants and not others until you figure out if it's needed or not. If you don't catch it in time by 3-5 week in flower you'll be chasing it the whole way to the end. There's a lot of misinformation from bro science growers floating around out there who think they know how to grow just because they grew a few plants.
