My plant is on day twenty & it is In miracle-gro soil & I water it with nestle bottled water for now I used just a window for sunlight for the first 10 days now it is under a cheap soft white light bulb until I get paid. $175 budget what should I buy I only plan to grow two plants at a time at the most the plant I'm growing now is pinapple punch Barney farm seed.

I think he wants to know how he can spend his $175 bucks.

With that cash you can buy a bunch of CFL bulbs and set up a small cabinet grow or something.

Or get a digital 250w mh/hps.....

Put your money into lighting first then odor control. Plenty of threads on here to learn about both.

CFL is cheap, but the results for new growers are not as good as HID mh/hps (200 watt - 400). LED is out of your budget.

If you don't want people to know you're growing, odor control is where you should spend money next.

Cheap: Ona Gel masks the odors.

Expensive: Carbon filters with inline fans for extraction. Extraction also keeps temps down from lighting.

Don't know where you are located but I picked up a 600W HPS on craigslist for $125 and it's night and day difference from my t5 setup.

Edit :: Also if you are on a budget HPS may have some sticker shock at your first electric bill.

I have found cfl's to be great for growing, and most of them are inexpensive. Also I use Earth Juice organic nutrients, I suggest you look into buying some nutrients for veg and bloom. Most nutrients can be very affordable. ps, stay away from miracle grow nutrients.

ive seen a couple people on here that use miracle grow, it always confused me too. I ask if it burns their plants up they say no they get great results. im a hydro guy myself. but ive seen good mg grows. id still steer clear,not enough positive to back up the negative. go with a switchable ballast. 250-400 max. mh hps. that way your covered in veg and bloom listen to them about smell. if anyone in your house isn't cool with it..its a no go you can find cheap used ballasts and such on craigslist generally anywhere in every town theres something for sale cheap. ona Is a masking agent not an air scrubber. and has to b refilled. you want good bud in a tight space look around on here there are some really knowledgeable people on here that are ready to help but ya gotta beady to listen.

In the past, I've had no probs with MG. But, the stuff Walmart is selling now is really giving me problems. Am now fighting Calcium def. from too much Nitrogen. I know it is hard to find other dirt locally, but change it out unless you want to deal with continued headaches.
