helping a new grower

my brother is goin to be new to growing so im helpin him set a little something up and he has about 500 bucks and i dont have ne expierence with this small of a set-up and not really interested in small set ups but its good for him to start out with so if ne one has ne detailed ideas it would be appreciated and again hes lookin to spend about 500 bucks on it thanks dudes

how much do you want to produce monthly? Is it short term or long? A lot of different factors to think about. first get some lights, seeds, dirt and water.

If i had 500 dollars id buy a 600 watt digital ballast, those good horti bulbs, a spell checker, a 3x4x6.5 tent, a cool tube, a inline fan, a charcoal filter, and ud have enough for some cheap dwc tubes and nutes. @nd grow id switch to ebb and flo tables and a sog. Thats what i would do, i am my learning grow, i screwed around do much and the beginning, lol, and thats about where i will be next. I bought as i went and that stuff sounds nice to me, but i new too.

Recommending a hydro setup such as ebb and flow might not be a good idea to a first time grower. Hydro is not as forgiving when mistakes are made... compared to soil.
Just my opinion.

i to would recommend a new grower start in soil.

I have regular Fluros for my veg and just bought my first HPS and it was a great deal heres the link for what I got and it was 225. delivered High Tech Garden Supply

What's your fluoro set-up? How many plants do you grow? How big/long?
If it's in your sig, just remember that I just and probably didn't notice and can't scroll down in this window to see it.

I'm growing outdoors, but in the mountains, and will need to move inside soon. Fortunately I have an almost infinite space under the house, at least 15'-20' high and a nice big area where we can build a platform. No one's close by, so no need to worry about smell. But, I need to save $$. I have some clones going and some seeds I want to germinate SOON, because they're from this stuff that does my hip pain perfectly.
