HEMPY 2 Liter SOG #1

Okay, this is my second grow journal, I did VERY WELL with my current 3 Gallon Hempy Bucket run (harvesting soon), and have taken so many clones, I decided to run a 2 Liter SOG this time around. Basically, we will go from Clones, right into 2 Liter containers, and straight into Flower, making just a Bunch of Single Kola Plants and no branching.

I had 2 Plants in Veg (Northern Lights x Big Bud & Fruity Chronic Juice), both in 3 Gallon Hempy Buckets 100% Perlite, for about a week, then topped em and put those tops into the Cloner. Waited a week, then took 15 clones per veg plant, and put them back into veg, so I could grow out the smaller clone sites before taking and finishing them off.

Today has been a week, and I took the last of the Clones off these two plants.. So now we have a total of (29) NLxBB and (30) Fruity Chronic Juice. I get roots to sprout in 8-9 Days and have a 100% ratio. So far I have yet to lose a clone with my SIMPLE Cloning method.

The tops that I took a couple of weeks ago got transplanted into their Hempy Solo cups 1 Part Verm to 3 Parts Perlite and have each been given their own 23 Watt CFL for right now. I will start them on a light feed tomorrow of about 100ppm (.5) and build them up quickly from there. They will be fed with every watering and every other day, to every 2 days (depending). These two will be vegged, then Topped, then vegged and stripped for clones in the next couple of weeks. Two of those clones will go back into veg and the cycle will continue.

In the meantime, we will get roots from the new clones and in the next couple of weeks, I will have the option to put them right into their 2 liter Hempy's and into Flower, or I can put them into Solo cups for a week, then into the 2 liters. It all depends on when my current grow can be harvested and out of the Flower Room in order to make room for the 2 Liters.

Feel free to ask questions or provide comments along the way!!!

Thought I would go ahead and post this today, being day 2 since taking clones. You can see how many of them drooped quite a bit and tend to lay there like a limp noodle. Not to be concerned, within the next day or two, they will pick themselves up and begin the healing process.

What I did want to note for my Journal is the difference between this batches Droopyness, and the last. The Last Batch was taken on a day that the mothers were not watered/fed, and every one of them dropped REALLY bad. This time, I watered the Mothers first, then about 3-4 hrs later, I took the second batch of clones, and I have noticed MUCH less Drooping..

I just wanted to make a note of this for future reference.

These are the clones that were taken yesterday. Some drooping, but not too bad. They should all be up and operational in the next day or two.

These are the Clones that we taken 8 Days ago. No roots just yet, but they are all up and healthy.

More and More Roots from the First Batch are coming ONLINE every day.. The ones with the little sticky's next to them have rooted, now just waiting on the others. They are in there, so its just a waiting game at this point. I also removed the dome so they can start to harden. They look very healthy and happy :hump:

Second Batch of clones are also taking their time, but I can see improvement daily, and so far, so good. I don't mind waiting, I have a little time before the flower room is ready for them. For now, I just keep things as Moist as possible, and should start seeing roots by Sunday or Monday.

The new Veg Mothers have been getting a light 100ppm (.5) for the last couple of feeds, and today I bumped them up into the 200ppm range. They are starting to come to life and I expect them to hit the res in the next few days. At that point, they will begin to beg for a transplant, when they

That concludes this update for the day

Okay,, Lets go ahead and do an update, although there isn't much going on.

Clones taken 2 weeks ago, continue to pop more roots daily,, I just need 2 more to make 100% in this tray, and I already know they are in there, cause the plants look very healthy, so again, its just a matter of time.

20120915_094820.jpg20120914_184555.jpg

Clones taken last weekend are moving a little slower than usual, and a couple still have yet to pick up their heads completely, but I wont be mad at em, they just need a little more patience. They should also start popping root any time now..
20120915_094917.jpg20120915_094859.jpg

If all goes well, everyone should be ready for transplant about next weekend or midweek after. :hump:

The new mothers are starting to come to life,, I had been keeping them under low lighting and started them on 200ppm a couple of days ago, and will go up to 300ppm in the next couple of waterings... I also decided to swap out the 23w CFL's with the 55 watters, so they can start to do their thing. The additional lighting will also require the PPM's to rise.
20120915_094433.jpg20120915_094426.jpg20120915_094416.jpg20120915_094439.jpg
Soon they will be put into 3 Gallon buckets, vegged, then topped, then vegged and cloned.

While I am waiting, I decided to start prepping my 2 liter containers.. We decided that we can get 18 - 2 liter bottles under my 400w HPS for this initial run, cause I have other 2 liters that need to finish up. This may also be how I run my perpetual.. I should be able to get 18 - 2 liters on one side of the lamp, and another 18 of the backside of the lamp. So my rotation could be front to back and harvest 18 plants every month. But then again, we will see how it works itself out. whenever I try to plan it, my timing is always off.

Hey rusty, looks good! do you use rapid rooters?
My first cloning attempt with a aero cloner failed i think its been a week and no roots so im giving the r.r. a shot keeping things simple seems to work the best

Yes the root riot cubes work great for me. All of the clones from the first batch popped roots finally, and the second batch should start popping anytime now. So far i am still at 100% with my cloning, you just have to be patient.

Saw our first root from the second clone tray this morning.. They are 2 days late, and I think its cause the humidity has been a little lower the last few days.. I am misting the dome every few hours, and will just have to wait them out. I also still have a couple of droopy ones,, but they are getting stronger every day, and this does also show that this tray is growing a little slower than normal, which must be an environmental factor.

None the less, its only a matter of time before they all pop roots and are ready to be transplanted.

The first tray of clones have really opened up and look GREAT! These will be the Candide's for the 2 Liters.
My wife and I have decided to run an experiment and answer one of the Hempy Feeding questions once and for all. We plan to run (18) 2 Liter Hempy's, and we will buy short plastic bins to hold the 2 Liters. 2 Bins, each holding (9) 2 Liter Bottles. This will make moving them around and feeding a little easier. 1 Bin of 2 Liters will have 100% Perlite, and be Watered Daily... The 2nd Bin of 2 Liters will have a mix on Perlite Vermiculite, and be Watered Every Other Day.. We want to see if there is a difference, and how substantial it is. This will be how we grow from then on..

That's it for today!! If all goes well, we still plan on transplanting and putting into flower this coming weekend :-P

These are the Clones that we will transplant this weekend. They all have a nice root system going and look incredibly healthy.

Hey MR.. I too have been flowering both strains,, and I get to harvest this weekend (Very Excited). That is how I am getting the space to move these into the flower tent. I thought they both kinda grew the same/similar, but I agree, the FCJ did branch a little more, but not significant.. I am going to try and prune often to keep any branching down to a minimum, and just focus on BIG Tops in the 2 Liters with as little popcorn as possible.. This will be more of an experiment for me that will help decide whether or not I want to keep running this way, or go back to a couple of Big Plants..

Welcome aboard!! Keep the 2cents coming :)

Transplanted and Into Flower Today..

This is a pic of one of the rooted clones being put into the 2 Liter

Here she is all ready to go
20120923_074654.jpg

Each set of 9 goes into their bin. One set is 100% Perlite, and the other is a 3-1 Perlite Vermiculite mix. Bin 1 will be watered daily and Bin 2 will be watered every other day (after roots hit the res).
20120923_082751.jpg20120923_083358.jpg20120923_083407.jpg

Watered with just PH water and will begin a 100ppm feed schedule tomorrow

I also went ahead and replaced the 400w HPS with a new bulb today. The bins will be a little low from the lights for the next day or two, then they will get moved closer to get the full dose.

Subbed. What's your feeding schedule going to be? For example water, water, feed for your daily feeding.

All of the girls are settling in just fine.. I moved them up toward the light a little more today, and tomorrow they should be positioned just about right.

20120925_071148.jpg20120925_071159.jpg20120925_071654.jpg20120925_071709.jpg20120925_071715.jpg
The girls are being fed .625ml Each per gallon of the GH Flora M-G-B, along with whatever PH Down is required, pretty much gives me 150ppm (.5 conv) using RO Water.

I also transplanted a couple of the moms last Sunday into their 3 gallon buckets, and being fed 300ppm Daily until roots hit the res, but are already growing pretty quickly..
