Hempy underwater question

This is more for my own curiosity.

I have a soil grow and a hempy grow going atm. I have once or twice stretched out the watering maybe to much, so the soil grow leaves would start to hang, when i watered, a few minutes later she recovered. This is right, and expected.

Now, i left the hempy for the same time without water. But it did not droop? I fail to understand this. The perlite was dry dry dry. And there was no water or moisture in the bucket. Why does the hempy not droop? Coz technically dry perlite should be drier than dry soil right?

Like i said, just wondering about this

I have the same experience with hempy...I let them go bone dry and they don't droop unless left for an extended period

maybe there is still some moisture in the perlite/vermiculite that they are able to utilize...not sure

perlite absorbs water so maybe the plant is extracting moisture from within the perlite. it might take a while to fully dry out not sure
