Hermie Pollination

So I have some questions about hermies. Never been a problem before in past grows but for some reason I got two, possibly a third in this grow out of 20. (the rest are females so I accepted it) I think the seeds might have come from previous clones that were stressed into self pollination. Either way, as they were my first hermies, I wasnt quite sure what Im supposed to expect. The plants were females originally with no male pods and about two weeks into flowering some of the secondary branches on the bottom began to show male pods. Only on about five or six bud sights though, but I didnt want to take chances so I cut two of them out. I now have one more thats showing male pods on some of the lower flowers....I found about six pods yesterday that were definitely male and I cut them off the best I could. Just wondering if hermies usually only show male pods on the lower branches or if it would be all over, including top cola, etc... I know sometimes in the final weeks of flowering a sensimilla crop can produce a few non viable male pods, this couldn't be that happening so early could it??

And one more side note, as I've never delt with pollination before...if a female is pollinated from say a single, or limited number of male pods on one area, does the entire plant produce seeds in the bud? Or just the pollinated buds?

Once the female has been pollinated, it will use its energy to create seeds, not bud. If ur wantin to keep the hermies, I'd get em in a totally separate area, possibly in another zip code. It only takes the tiniest bit of pollen to screw up everything, don't chance it with 20plants.

well like I said I cut two of them out, and now a third has shown just a few pods. If those pods were to pollinate the buds around them only those that came in direct contact would produce seeds right? A small amount of pollen like that would not necessarily compromise the entire room would it?

I had 5 granddaddy purple to begin with and I don't want to see another one go, its one of my favorites...so if I can grow it out and just watch it closely, clip off any pods that show up before they burst and if some of the lower bud sights get pollinated just deal with it that is what I would try for.

Oh no, a single male plant can ruin a whole grow. The fans runnin all the time olnly increases the chances of pollination of other plants, but u gotta have fans. Say just one of the male pods popped, now u have pollen being circulated throught the room which is bad news.

you will only get seeds on the calyx that got pollinated. Could be 1 bud, could be the whole plant. Depends on the air circulation, and how many pods are on the plant.

only the female calyxes that come in direct contact with pollen will produce seeds.
however with your fans runnin those 3 hermies could pollenate your whole crop and ruin it all.
3 plants aint worth risking 17 others. cull the hermies now or move them to another space if the bud is that important to you

that's what i'm sayin

you can have the male in a totally separate room and they can still pollinate the females in your grow room. the pollen is like dust it can travel through anything and float through the air
