I have 70 squared feet, plus a closet. I'm thinking of using the closet to grow clones and to keep my mother.

I want to grow the dankest shit and would like to yield the most possible per harvest (who doesn't).

My budget is limited (I'd like to keep it under 700$ for the whole rig) and I'm pretty much set on growing in pots since it looks a lot simpler.

Smell is a concern since I live in an appartment.

How many ladies could I fit in there?

What would be the best lighting arrangement to cover this space?

I'm sure I'm forgetting something feel free to chime in

how wide? how tall? how long? what about ventalation? fresh air? electrical supply? nutrients? soil or hydro?

To do an apt. properly you should try and get a grow tent so you can filter all outgoing air. secret jardin is the best brand bghydro.com

Here is what I would do in this situation:
Craigslist for a 1000 watt HPS(expect to pay around $200), look for a vented shade 6'' minimum, a 6'' Vortex blower($150 or so) and ducting, an Odorsok or can filter ($50-$100) Set it up so that you pull air across the light, not push.
Recommended nutrients for beginner: Flora Nova 1 part series, Fox Farm Grow big and Tiger Bloom 1 part is good, expect to pay ($50-$80)
(9) 7 Gallon containers, Large tomato cages.
Use an organic soil like Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Black Gold,

Of course you'll need a strain that'll produce like NL x Big Bud, White Rhino, B-52, etc. (see seed and strain review section)

For veg room I would get 1 600watt Metal Halide lamp, not as important to have an innercooled light but it helps,
I would do my mother plants in a deep water culture bucket.
Black 5 galon bucket,net pot insert, fish tank air pump and air stone, and some lava rocks. Use one of the previously mentioned nute programs or something you find in a hydroponic store,
Clone tray and humidome, Oasis cubes, Rapid rooters, rock wool,etc. for your cuttings, a heat mat, spray bottle, Superthrive, root hormone.

Here's what I would do,
once clones are rooted, put them in 3 inch square cups with soil,
grow them in those until they get root bound, move to 1 gallon containers,
Let them get root bound, Moved to 7 gallon pots, by then they should be around 20-24", place the tomato cages in the containers, cut off the bottom 1/3 of the branches and use for more clones later. Put in your
flower room for about a week on 18/6 and then flip to 12/12.

You're hoping to get around 4 oz. per plant with this method,
9 plants @ 4 oz. = 36 oz. = 2+ lbs. per 1000watt.

But that's just me...

the grow area is 12x6 the height is 7', my appartment is not really well ventilated, I only have 4 electrical circuits in my appartment, I'm planning on picking up generic cheap nutrients. My grow would be in soil.

I've got a 400 MH+ballast+reflector for 150$ availlable to me right now, could I have my first grow on this light alone and have decent results?, then buy a 1000 watts HPS for my second one when money won't be such a concern.

Don't use generic cheap nutrients, trust me - the higher quality your stuff is, the better plants you'll get with less problems. Fox farm is pricey, but very good. Worth every cent.

swichable ballast, so you can run mh and hps. run em 240v to save on amps.. get a cooled hood and a vortex 6" fan. i use bat guano and bird guano for fert. molasses in late flowering. black gold soil.

I have a closet and a room at my disposal... I want to run a MH and an HPS at the same time for continuous growth

ok idea use the mh in the closet for your clones and your mother.

buy a 2-3 hps ballast and lamps for your plants that are gonna be flowered...

and spend the extra cash on fox farms ocean forest and buy 1 liter bottles of Grow big (use 2 weeks after applied in soil then vege for another 2 weeks with using this nute every other watering.)

and for your flower stage use Tiger bloom from Fox Farms and you will have no problem.

but seriouly spend the extra cash on the fox farms
