Hi I'm On My First Ever Grow With Very Little Experience. Advise Would Be Nice

:blsmoke::hump:Hi ive just started my first grow. Ive got feminised lowryder#2 crossed with ak-47, I'm 17 days in with one plant as I don't want to waste because I have used palgrom soil as ive read that it holds enough nutrients to last the entire grow(looking to possibly use some form of booster but i got no idea what to use). At the moment I got one cfl 50/60HZ,125w 240v/125-6u light which gives off both the 6400k and 2700k light for both stages I'm wondering whether I need more light and if not yet when and how much more and how do you find the levels of lumen. I've got an industrial light reflector which reflects 80% light. So this gives my plant around 90% light coverage at all times. Ill post pics as soon as I can get on a computer I'm having to use my iPhone at the minute, unless someone can tell me how to upload to web through my phone. hints and tips would be much appreciated.

Hey there garry well from what i can see i would maybe add more light but if u only have 1 plant under ur 125wcfl u might be ok with it and maybe 2 smaller cfls for side lighting...as far as a booster dont know...but good luck

cheers im looking to probably get another 2 ligths ive found some 45w cfl in both colours to put at the sides but i cant afford them yet hopefully fridays paypack while stretch to one 2700k then later ill get another 6400k. plants looking really good cant wait to get some pics on for feedback.

What would I be looking for and what are the costs of running that sort of light currently my electric is only £25 a month

i like the cfl grows. My first two were cfl and they went well. It depends on your space and temps as well and i didn't read dimensions on your space.

Rule of thumb i use 100 actual watts per plant MINIMUM and 50 additional watts for each extra plant. i ran 4 ladies under 513w combined cfl and fluoro and pulled 1.7oz/plant dried.

if you put the 150 hps instead of the cfls you will not use anymore electric than you are now, 250 hps even better :) as for cost of the 250 hps on electric, if your paying the average price for electric in the uk which is 10p a kw the 250 will cost you 10p every 4 hours its on so for the 18/6 its about 45p a day and 30p when you flick to 12/12.

I got my measurements the cupboard is 20inch deep by 33inch wide by 63inch high. The plant is 5inch from the bottom of the light and the bottom of the reflector is 20inch from the floor. But the width can be adjust.

Best advice i've ever gotten. Keep it simple! It's a plant. And science, not opinions can give you the basics to grow good weed. The opinions and experiences are what can help you grow great weed. Time, patience, reading/research, and of course, practice growing.

Pistils have comeout now it's ready for Flowering. I've got some good info off this sight. I've got some lumens charts so I can decide what way to go with the money I got. Thanks for posting guys still haven't managed to get to a computer. : (

get a 1000watt ballast kit a great lightbulb and a cheap ass hood 100+70+30=200 eastwesthydro.com for lightbulb....

Ok been awhile since I last posted my plant is now 6 weeks old today and I have another 3 in the making, I got 2 a week and a half younger and one I started on Thursday so now I got a cycle going sadly I lost one two weeks ago : ( but not bad I got 4/5 to work.
My oldest plant is looking lush the flowers looks nice and the hairs on the bud are looking tasty the only thing is it doesn't smell but the younger two stink to high heaven any ideas why. And I want to prune it as I want it to put all it's energy to budding can someone help me with which leaves to cut off.

Bro r u cloning a AUTO flower???And for the electric cost i pay around .06 cents per k/w and use a 600w quatum ballast and the light isnt even noticeable on my bill...Just remeber bro a watt is a watt so if ur using 200w of CFL'S u might as well get a 250w hps or a LED and get better buds...JMO...Good grow so far keep it up bro..

The price is why I got the cfl but eventually with cashflow i want to go led and I didn't think you could clone autos?. I bought 5 feminised seeds sadly one died. my first baby is 42 days old. Two are around 30 days and the youngest is nearly a week. Quick ??Any ideas why the oldest doesn't smell.

U cant clone them i just thought u were for some reason my bad....It dont even smell when u sqeeze a bud or shake it??I have no idea why it wouldnt stink...

I wish I knew why it doesn't smell, but on one hand it gives me time to buy a carbon filter but on the other does it effect the quality. Any feedback on the pics would be appreciated.

Smell is definitely not a true indicator of potency! But my guess is that it will surely start to gain some kind of smell as the grow progresses. Looking good so far man. My last grow had hardly any smell, i mean none, but dam... it was some killer smoke!

And yes, you can certainly clone an auto. But the payoff wont quite be worth it because the plant most likely wont get as big as the one you clipped it from because of the extremely short grow cycle.
