I have been looking at different grow setups, and think I like the idea of using pallet racking with 2 levels of plants. I see 4x8 flood trays that fit right in the racking, and I like the idea of hydroponic to be able to fully control the variables of the grow room. I attached a picture of a setup I saw that I really liked. I like the idea of running a 8' tall pallet racking with 2 levels with almost 4' of space on each level. I also like the idea of maximizing efficiency and using the space in a way that provides the most amount of product per cubic foot.

I guess one first question I have is whether its better to design and put together a facility with more small plants, or less larger plants? I was looking at different 4x4 LED light fixtures, and not sure what is an ideal amount of plants to put under each light.

Also, from a guy who has never used cannabis before; how would I go about selecting a good variety of strains to grow? I see they have different strains rated on different sites based on popularity. Is that a good way to start?

It seems there is so much information on the internet, and in my position without any experience I'm finding it difficult to navigate through it all.

I have loved growing various plants my whole life, if i can make a living at this heck why not give it a try! as far as i am concerned on a personal level i think the legalization in Canada is not going to be a good thing for the average joe. but heck i didn't vote for the guy who brought in the legislation

More power to you. I was in business for 25 years. But no commercial operation will consistently yield product like I need for patients and I am sad that business has taken over.

And it is affecting our home grows all over regulated states already. They will keep reducing plant counts. For every business like you're thinking of starting less patients will receive good home grown meds.

We grow without schedules or greed. Business can never compete for quality. And we have proof from Mrs. MMG's doctor that our flowers have almost eliminated her life long cysts. And accompanying illness. We don't grow the strain of the week like you have to. We are worried about diverse canabanoids. Not 30% thc to charge more money to pot heads.


Just my feelings.

But you've delusional if you think the growers don't care about the patients or the product. I have seen an old time Michigan grower, an ex cop, and an 18 year old kid go celebrate a successful week. And the success had nothing to do with profit.

I have seen growers come in at 2:00 am because the temp was a few degrees off. I have seen them come in on days off because they wanted to see a certain strain harvested. I have seen them come in an hour early to spend time with the plants alone. I have seen them fist bumping and giving high fives because of a letter written by a patient.

So if you say a commercial grow can't help the patients like you can your either disingenuous or misinformed.
