HID hut ballast issues

Has anyone ever tried to use an HID hut cool tube with a standard ballast? I bought a 400w MH setup from HID hut some time ago but did not use it until the past 2 months. After 7 weeks it died & kept blowing fuses so I needed to get a new light set fast.
Now I have an extra reflector that has an HID HUT plug wich is not standard, apparently HID HUT uses their own connector plug that looks kind of like a pc power cord..rep at HID hut has offered a 10% discount to replace it as it is no longer coveted under warrantee..Should I order another piece of crap ballast from HID hut & hope this one lasts awhile? Or can I just rewire the reflector for a standard ballast plug....has anyone else had a similar issue? If so what did you do?

I would rather not use them again ok so fuck 'em, but now I got this here cool-tube from HID hut open wired with their adapter plug. Can I rewire it to any ballast? Do I have to cut the plug off a new ballast and hard wire it to the tube? Hate to spend more dough to find out I fucked it up...already having enough bad luck

Thanks so much for the help...now I just hope my girls recover from the stress of 6 days in the dark. I realize what a piece of shit I was sold when I got my new light set, even though I paid about the same it is much higher quality than hid hut...I won't use them again

Dont cut the wire off at the plug thats asking for trouble.every light socket is connected by three wires buy the proper cord and wire it properly. Btw digi 400s are under 100 on ebay, unless its a hortilux or solis tek they are all from the same factory in china

Yeah been browsing plenty of adequate replacement ballasts just under a buck but I am more concerned right now with nursing them back to health after the damage of 6 days in the dark. Investing in a new ballast and rewiring it will be beneficial in the future as backup and/or supplemental lighting but if I spend any more on lights & shit the old lady's gonna freak, so I am forced to wait it out for a bit. When the 400w replacement light set came in and I set it up, figured why not use the new super HPS and proceeded to put it at about the same level as I had the MH. Within a day or two all the top leaves were shriveled, then nearly all the leaves. I then noticed how the water level was an inch or 2 below the net pots, they must have drank down a lot of water. I was planning on starting a flower cycle but after 2 days in the light nearly all the leaves were withered and dying.

I thought at first maybe it was nute burn due to the change a week prior but that was before the ballast blew and they actually looked ok when I first turned on the new HPS cool-tube,there were just a few yellowing bottom leaves. Probably let the water level get too low and put the HPS too close to the tops. Put the MH back on 18/6 and topped off res w/straight ph +/- water. It is 3 days later & there is much new growth, hopefully wont be a total loss but had to cut everything off that was dead which was almost all the leaves. It will take weeks for them to recover.:-?

So for the benefit of those who were lazy and dumb enough to allow google search to influence your purchase decision...people like myself. Don't buy that cheapo light set from HID hut, because it sucks & will crap out on you and then your all shit could die. Listen to the wise ones here and find a better deal on amazon or ebay or just get in your piece of shit car and drive to your local hydroponic garden store & support your local economy, dam it....educate yourselves and learn from others mistakes. Thanks for the tip haulinbass! :peace:

Just checked it out on alibaba.com. Problem is most sellers are looking to unload 100 units or more but I see what you are saying about markup...these wholesale prices are phenom but I only need one 400w ballast
