High humidity dry

So, I live in a crappy house until the lease is up. It is ridiculously damp. My bedroom where I will be hanging has an RH of 70%-80% always. Inside my tent and cabinet are actually quite a bit lower because of the heat and air circulation. I have several strains going that will be cut down at different times so I can't use the tent for hanging. Will I be able to hang in this humidity to get it dry enough for curing? What can I do for a proper dry in these conditions beyond an indirect fan?

Does anyone have ideas on how I can dry without bud rot or mold? I saw a tub hang dry setup on someones first harvest pics. What about something like that with EZdry in the bottom? I have 4-6 weeks left I think so there is time for remedies I'm just looking for ideas.

dougoly, it seems likely you will have mold issues with high humdity...maybe with fan direct on the buds hanging is the only option till you harvest all of the strains in your tents. than that i cannot help you. sorry and good luck with your harvest.

agree with Izoc666 - recently i had the same situation. i was successful with the dry and finally into cure - whenever i could i had a fan blowing gently over it - good luck

When ever you are in doubt break the cola's into each individual bud, then if some of those are big then break them up to. You don't have to cut through the bud as such, just follow the stems it attaches to and segment it like that. The more air flow you have less likely to mold.
Even though all round air flow is good, i've found that putting broken up buds on news paper dries it out really fast and good. Maybe the paper takes some of the moisture out. I've had cola's that were actually rotting but broke it up and pulled out the directly damaged bits and it's turned out just fine- by putting the segmented buds on a news paper like i said.
Anyway how do you grow if you can't make a room lower than 70%? Work on drying out your grow room with an air con or dehumifyer and then maybe you can dry in there too.

Thanks for the ideas and input. The tent is in my bedroom actually. I didn't know what I was getting into when we rented this house. After harvest we will be talking to the landlord to try to get out of here. Anything against an outside wall gets mold inside of a week. Summer was fine, now the rainy season is here and it is unbearable. I may try cutting the buds up small. If it is as bad as I thought and y'all make it sound I may just borrow some closet space at a friends for a a couple weeks as they come down. I'm still interested in what anyone thinks of the EZdry pellet idea. They are basically silica beads that take moisture out of the air.

Mold is really fucked my friend- it strikes suddenly and devastatingly. It happens on the inside of fat colas first so by the time you see a hint of something on the outside it has already ate a massive brown yucky chunk out below the surface. It is as bad or worse than anyone makes out so yes take what is said here seriously.
About the pellets or any other suck moisture thingie (that isn't a machine like a room de-humidifyer or air con) you have to think about the volume of water it has to suck up. My air-con sucks litres and litres a day. If i had crystals doing the same job, i would need several buckets full of crystals- PER DAY. So you have to think about if it is a recyclable method or if you are buying a new box every day. I see some de-humid bags you put in the microwave to re-set but most you jsut buy the crystal refill again which will cost you an arm and a leg so not worth it.

Okay, AC definitely not an option right now as it is plenty cold out.

What I am thinking is something like this ^ with a small bowl of the pellets and a small fan facing down and the lid on a little sideways for fresh air or burp it like curing. Not quite sure but with the tub I'm thinking I could control the humidity way easier than my whole room which is pointless. I stole the tub pic from ManishWayz who posted pics of his first harvest earlier.

Well do you have a closet you can use for a few days? If so there is a silicant air dryer at the hardware store. It comes in a jar and needs no power. It's like the stuff that comes with jurkey. 2 or 3 of them in a small location will bring your RH down.

Sounds like your landlord needs to invest in some dehumidifiers. They are about 200 a pop, get one for the basement, one for upstairs... should solve the problem. Idk bout ur state, but ours is pretty hardcore about mold and such for rental properties. I would just shove that in his face if he doesn't want to pay lol, but seriously, mold is a health hazard.

Washington state and they are hard on it. I'm trying to finish these girls up before I tell the landlord I want out. I am definitely feeling the health effects actually. I think I have about 4-6 weeks left before harvest and we will be talking to the landlord. That small silicant dryer is what I was thinking maybe in a tub like the one pictured above.

Go to home depot and buy this moisture absorber called. DampRid. They use them in RV's and boats for mold. Working great so far for me
