Ok, so I have been in the hobby for a few years now. I haven"t had a problem till now or at least a potential problem. The room gets very hot and dry. I know I could spend money but I don't have it right now. The plants are enormous starting veg in Feb. till beginning of June. This is when i put them in a 12hr cycle. The problem is they are frequently dropping leaves, particularly the fan leaves and the lower leaves. They"ll turn either purple or yellow and drop off with a flick of the finger. they are nearing the end, they are producing. I wanted to question the community if any one has experience that could relate to a beneficial outcome for me. Are the leaves dropping ok? I say this bc there are many leaves and i have read that manicuring to allow the light thru will produce better results for inner blooming. I don't want too many to drop off bc iam unsure if these leaves are more beneficial for producing carbohydrates in the Krebs cycle for the ultimate end product. Does anyone think or have experience with high dry temps causing not enough water to make it to all the leaves or is this simply not enough water, not enough nutrients. These are grown in 40gallon containers, min 4 ft. height, fully grown extensive root system. I am going to add an A.C., but the only way I can do my hobby, creates a backwards temperature variation where the temps are lower(80's) during light and higher (90-100 degrees) at night. I now its wrong but i have to do it that way for now. Is this affecting the dropping leaves. they pretty much are crumpled dry by morning. The humidity is at zero degrees. Yet the veg room is at 100 degrees humidity. The plants receive atleast 1-2 gallons a day plus a misting at nite plus a humidifier I have added. thanks for any input
