high to all fellow "grower/smokers" or should i say brothers.

Just wanted to say hi to all here. I've been growing for 30 or 31yrs. but never indoors, This is my first time. I know alot about growing but im sure indoor will be a little different, so any help WILL be greatly appreciated. I lost everything i had and now have to try and start from scratch. I'm disabled and money is real tight right now. At least till S.S kicks in. If Obama didn't do away with it to. I know if money is tight lights and strain are the most in portent, so i got a 150 watt hps and a 400 watt hps light both are crappy open hoods from HTG supply but i count say no to the price 100.00 for both and went with a "sweet island sk" . my grow box is crap but will have to do for this grow then im going for a 32x32x78 tent. im 6wk in and doing good. i will post some pics. tomorrow to see what you think and to see if im doing anything wrong.

Nice to have another 'older' fart on board. A good place to be if you don't mind the occasional testosterone fueled pissing contest. Those kids often think they know everything, but a few of them aren't too far off. There is a lot of knowledge mixed in with the inflated sense of superiority, but you will soon know when to listen, and when to move along. Just watch the threads that interest you,what kind of rep and journals etc. There is more to pay attention to, but if you've been growing outdoor, you probably have it nailed down, except for the lights and various media. Well as an other "old Fart" I welcome you also to riu, lots of good people here willing to help each other, yes you have to take most advise with a grain of salt but as time goes by you'll learn who to trust, and there's lots of them, best of luck with your grow, sounds like you have a nice set up to start, just curious, soil or hydro?

I tried hydro for a minute but didn't have the money to set everything up right and lost the first batch so i went with what i know dirt. i dont have the funds or time to wast right now. got to get this grow off first, but im very interested in it and will play around with it later. I think it was a heat issue as the temp need to be cooler, where soil is a little more forgiving.

Welcome....I guess its old fart night....my aches and pains are keeping me up tonight. I love soil....just love the way Mota tastes when grown as clean as possible....(organic). Lots of info on here...look at the indoor growing forum for threads on just about anything indoor. You can also use the search option in each forum...just type in key words or a partial sentence and it will give you results of all the threads containing the subject matter you are looking for.

So you decided to go with a sativa this go around ha?? A friend of mine had a few of those girls growing outside....they ran a little to long in flower stage for the area we are at....but he managed to haul them in and out until they were done....very nice smoke. I take it you already grew that strain outdoors? She gets quite strechy so you will have to watch that....perhaps some topping early on and start the 12/12 while the plants are relativly small...12 to 15 inches or so....they will double in size...at least double! Thanks bear and yes ive grown then before outside. i got the seeds from attitude seed bank they average 5 to 8 ft. they are sativa-India mix. I have cut them a few times and have 8 main colas will scrog them in about 4 days. If they start to get to tall i will wrap the scrog with a cage and go bare bulb i will be putting up a pic. of her today. and i know im going to get slammed about my box but like i said im new to indoor and no mon no fun. but the girl is doing good besides the fact in not use to growing in pots and she started to get root-locked before i got her into a 5gal. bucket.
