HLG 300v2 in 3x3 too hot!

So i just set up my 3x3 tent and new LED for my seedlings and my temps are at about 90-95. This is obviously too high. Distance from the canopy is 24". Im running one 4" 100cfm exhaust up top and a desk fan inside near one the mesh vents. Temps outside the tent are about 65-70. im not sure if adding an intake would help, or maybe another exhaust? anyone have tent heat issue solutions besides AC?

You need a more powerful exhaust to create negative pressure and bring in that fresh, cool air passively.

I'd get a 6 inch inline fan and turn it down to about 75% for a 3x3. You using a carbon filter? Can't imagine a 100cfm fan moving much air through one.

Nope, no filter. minimal ducting.Temps got up to 102 and fried one of my seedlings, even after i raised the light to 30". Might just ditch the tent, it barely fits in the closet and i only got it to prevent light loss and retain humidity, but i think i can find other ways of dealing with those.

No matter what you're growing in you'll need to have better exhaust. Only way around it is if you're running a sealed room with it's own ac, which isn't feasible for a 3x3 space.. No way to get around it, proper ventilation is grow environment 101 stuff.

Keep the tent, get a proper fan and exhaust it into the room the closet is in or into the attic and your problem will be solved.

Are you legal with no neighbors? Even if I were legal I'd run a carbon filter, your whole house will constantly wreak of weed. It'll stick to your clothes, furniture, carpet, etc.

Do some more research before you get any further, if you'd have followed the templates everyone set before you this thread wouldn't exist.

I grow in a small closet in a spare room with 400w of leds and if it gets to hot I just open the door. Easiest way deal with heat. There is fans in the closet too.

Just having a fan blowing inside isn't enough. You HAVE to use an exhaust fan to create negative pressure unless you're in a sealed environment. Opening the door is not a real remedy.

Thank you for the advice, quiscent. Im not legal (yet, IL laws will most likely be changing very soon.) and the closet has no access to the outdoors or attic. One of my roommates are ususally smoking in the house so it smells like herb constantly anyway lol. I raised the light up to about 33" and my temps are steady at 85 now. How many CFM would you recommend? This grow is already over the budget i planned on investing, so thats why i went with the cheap IPOWER fan i chose. do you think another 4"100cfm fan on the opposite vent would do the trick?

My spare room is sealed and it’s a perfect remedy for me. Just my 2 cents is all.
how big is your space? Have you had successful harvests there? I dont really have the option to do any modifications to my walls/door to vent my exhaust out of the closet, just the option to open the door like you and stick a fan in the doorway. The closet itself is larger than 3x3, its big enough to walk in,probably more like 8x4. So i think if i ditch the tent, and keep the frame for the light to hang, the heat will have room to escape to the rest of the closet.

hmm. i was actually looking at these earlier today. do you use them with or without ducting?
With I have the duct at the top of the tent vent in the bottom cracked a little caves my tent in when running I’ll take a pick of it I just set the fan on top of my tent and exhaust out suction side hanging in the top

I have two of em one for my veg tent with 240 watt fluorescent one for a flowering tent with a 500 watt clw cob no heat issues

The closet is in a 10x10 room. It’s a 2x4’ space with a rigged up wall at 34” so it’s 24x34x96”. I have not harvested anything but it’s getting close. Here’s a pic from yesterday.

Why don't you dim it for seedlings?

it crossed my mind but i thought the more light the better/faster they'll grow. I know my LED is adjustable but i wasnt sure how difficult it was and how much of a temperature reduction id get from doing so

Dims down to 120 watts which is cooler than full blast 275 watts.
Then you can lower light down closer.
It's an A driver so just pop out the rubber grommet on top of driver and using a screw driver turn screw inside anti clockwise.
I'm vegging 6 plants I've just transplanted to 10l pots with ~ 84 watts on 3 x Samsung F strips.
Also, where are you taking the temp to get 90 95?
