HM Digital EC/PPM reading?

Ok so I put 1/4 strength nutes in my 8 gallon reservoir of my DWC and the water used is ALL distilled.

I used the TDS meter and for the KCL reading for PPM's of the nutrient solution I made it says 220 and the EC of it says 415? I thought this was suppose to be XX.X style? not in the hundreds?

Am I missing something? Is 220PPM bad? Too little?

Please help because they are in regular water now and this is their first true nutes and I dont wanna F them up.

I'm pretty new to this hydro thing, but from what I understand the 200s is a good range for new plants/clones. If you can, check out Seemore Buds' first DVD, 15 Pounds in 80 days. It shows a massive hydro op from start to finish, has all the ppm #s, ph, etc onscreen throughout. Pretty educational for an amateur like me. Also, I've had luck reading through older posts and threads. Hope that helps a little.

The ppm in my res for veg is usually around 1200-1300 halfway between res changes. I feed clones this solution once they have good roots and new foliar growth. Before they start to root I spray them with 5% solution. I use double 10" carbon filteres, the water starts out at about 110ppm. I use a Hanna ppm meter that is calibrated every two weeks. I also use organic nutes.
