Homemade greenhouse lights?

I'm aware this forum is mainly for cannabis, but I'm very interested in Papaver Somniferum (poppies), and got some relevant questions!


I've got seeds from a couple different strains, and planning on bulding a little "greenhouse", as in wood walls, with lights inside, instead of the real sun
The growing area will be roughly 60x40 inches, and I need to buy lights to cover that area!


The thing is, I'm inbetween LEDs and HID.. Regardless of my choice, I'll have some UVB 2% lights added for potency..
How can I most effecitvly cover this grow area, if I choose HID lightning? Will i be using HPS only, or mix in MH? Do I need several for 60X40? Is there a better option?


If i'd choose LED, it would be expensive to buy, so I'm thinking of bulding my own LED panel. How big must it be to cover the 60 by 40 inch space?
How would i combine red/blue/white LEDS in a pattern to make it effective and good?


The question on how big the panel got to be is iportant, as I'm most interested in how i can spread the light..

Well i could recommend to go for CMH(or CDM) - HPS
With 2:1 ratio. Although hps only would work. Cmh only would work even better. Leds are not there yet. Some are, but they cost a fortune..
How to spread it.. well that depends on way more factors than grow area dimmensions.. budget, item availability, heat control, oh man u name it
But HIDs do make your room bright

I can't seem to get a hold of any CMH bulbs. Anyway, the whole room growhouse is going to be rouhgly 80 by 80 - 100 inches.. And I've been thinking of getting two 400W MH/HPS digital, trying to spread evenly. Will that do? Also, how exactly do reflectors work, as some are sized whatever and shaped differently.. How close can you really place to reflectors with 400w MH/HPS in my conditions, with even spread?

The growhouse will be outside, in a rather cool enviorment. Norway! Not as cold as many may think, but yes.. Good oportunities to just open something And instead of pots and such, i will try one big grow area as mentioed.. If that's would be prefered?

Question. By poppies you mean like opiates?? I wanna grow a Lortab plant!! I know I'm not offering advice but I wouldnt mind getting some of them seeds where if you don't mind my asking did you acquire them overly items?
