So I'm on my second grow and am fighting my first battle with Spidermites!:wall:

As a result, I went to my local nursery looking for neem oil. I have been there a couple of times before for other things and knew their prices were a little higher than the local Walmart or Home Depot, but they were open and close to home so I headed on over.

When I got there, I was greeted by the same lady that had waited on me previously and told her what I was looking for. She took me straight to it and asked if I was fighting spidermites. I paused for a second and said yes and then just shot it straight. I told her I was a MMJ patient and she said that she kinda guessed it based on the fact that I was always in a good mood, was polite, and the dead giveaway was my water bottle:grin:. Anyhow, she suggested I try a systemic that would give me a 100% kill versus the neem oil's 70-80%. I went with both.
She also brought my attention to a few items that they carry specifically for MMJ customers such as their FF line, Guano, Kelp, Superthrive, soils, etc. I told her I was surprised I hadn't seen them before but that they were kinda hidden over in a corner. She told me this was due to the VERY predominantly Mennonite community in which we live.

I ended up picking up some Superthrive as well and was surprised at how cheap it was. $6.49/tx. When she rang me up, she gave me a 15% discount based upon "medical necessity" and my total bill ended up being less than Home Depot OR Walmart! Needless to say, she has definitely won over my future business and the business of ANYONE and EVERYONE I can send her way!:weed:

Anyone else have a similar experience or comments?

I got put in a computer to receive 15% off every purchase for the same reason at a local hydro shop :D

Hydroshops like that usually are more expensive first off to make up for the discount lol
True of every business model. Think back 10 years ago when your local corporate grocery store didn't have the Jewel/Kroger/Whole Foods Card. They just implemented this card system, jacked up prices a bit, tell you to get their card so you can get prices back to normal. And they get valued consumer data. They now know who buys what and where. Smart move on their part.

She also said that her MMJ customers are her favorite ones and wishes more people were like us. She said that on top of being friendly, we are also better educated regarding our crops than your average backyard farmer and we didn't mind paying for what we got instead of always looking to jump over a dollar to pick up a dime!
