Honey to heal cut on plant

Can honey be used to heal wounds on a plant and protect it from pathogens?? I have seen honey being used as a rooting agent but I was wondering if I could use it on the cut of the plant as well to keep the plant itself from infection through my cut. I have some large stalks I want to top back and they are a little thicker than usual so I want to protect the plant itself.

Great question!
Honey would definitely look better than the asphalt spray that's made for tree pruning!

It may attract bugs though. :roll:
 
It kills bacteria but as above already said it will possibly attract bugs if you indoor with a clean room etc id say its fine would never try it outdoors tho
 
I'd use wax or superglue. I've successfully used superglue to fix a branch that was 50% detached from the node. Stunted growth initially, now one of the biggest colas.
 
I used a honey/cinnamon combo. Interested to see how it works and if there is any effect. I just dabbed the honey on the stump then sprinkled cinnamon on. The honey helped it stick better. It is an indoor grow as well so not many bugs around.
 
I topped a plant and put honey on the wound on one of my first grows. It started getting FAT up top and SKINNY at the base
