Hood Rat Hood, DIY Car HID And CFL Bulb Veg Hood

So I've made this light hood out of cardboard and mounted a 65 watt dusk to dawn light in the center with two 55 watt 5000K lights. I have one fan cooling the power board for the CFL bulb because I've heard of overheating issues. The two HID lights have fans blowing on them to keep the heat from rising and melting the plastic because I've heard it's not only better to have them pointed down but gets very hot. The fourth fan is above the 65 watt bulb pulling all the heat up out of the box and away from the bulb. I don't have pictures but I put heat sinks on the ballast and have fans blowing on them because them fuckers were getting hot! So I guess I was wondering if it would be better to keep the 5000k bulbs or order the 6000K bulbs? I'm only growing one plant in a 3x3 and will switch to a 250 watt MH after 2 - 3 weeks of vegging under this DIY hood rat box, lol. Once under the MH I will do start to scrog, and when ready for flowering I'll switch to a 600 watt HPS and try a couple KindLED light strips on the sides for that little extra something something. I've only ever cloned, veg and flowered in hydro and I'm finding soil to be the hardest thing I've ever tried. With one plant in a 3x3 with two KindLED 2' light strips and a 600 watt HPS light be enough? Personally I would like a 1000 watt but don't think I really need it. Any adlvice on how to improve my setup, hood rat hood, or anything would greatly be appreciated. Can't upload the pictures, site says the service is down so I will post later today.

Get the cardboard off your lights, you trying to start a fire?

Trust me, it's safe. I checked it for days and it doesn't get hot at all. I've lined it with foil so it doesn't hold the heat at all. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm worried if a fan fails then I'm in trouble. What if I was to be smart and build it out of wood?

I was all set t by the nice 200/400 watt mh for the whole clone and veg stage and get a nice 400/600 watt HPS ballast and vented Hood and just pimp my secrete jardin 3x3 but the turbo went in my Audi and at the same fucking time my head gasket went in my chevy. So needless to say I went home made till the end of this month. Should 600 watts be enough?

You know what's really sad and does make me look like a dummy? I'm a DOT certified welder and have an arc and mig/aluminum spool gun. I could easily have welded a nice little hood together to use short term. Sad and Ignorant on my part.
