Im stealth growing on one end of the house. The house has 2 fuse panels. I lost all power to one side of the house. Including grow setup. With drop cords i corrected that problem and others. I know for sure the short is between the fuse box and outside box. They're also on the same wall. I need to find the short and up grade the old glass fuse box. Ball Park figure on such job would be welcome. Im guessing 1500-2000.??

I did and that was his quote. Ill call a couple more to see if thats a fair price. This is blowing my grow expansion out of the water. Id be thrilled with 1000-1200. But 1500-2000 just seems a bit high to me. I understand its a few hours of a job. But hes gonna be pushing new wire through a whole to another panel 5 feet away.

To add a data point -

My fuse box is in my unfinished basement.

To add 2-15 amp fuses, and add 2-GFCI outlets to the basement walls cost me $550.

For one outlet, they used conduit already installed and probably used 4 pieces that they brought with them.

So for maybe $100 in materials, I paid $450 in labor for about 2.5 hours(the dude had to have been the slowest MOFO alive). How could it take that long to pop in 2 fuses and bend some conduit to 1 outlet less than 10 ft from the box and then use already installed conduit to the other outlet? I only used an electrician cause I'm too much of a wuss to try and mess around with the fuse box. I had no issues running wire to another outlet I installed for my grow tent.
