Would this not produce bigger yields? As the plant would still be getting the needed 12 hours of dark, but would be gaining 6 more hours of light.

unless you want to consider your days to be 30 hours long then i don't see how you're going to pull off 18/12 lol.I don't see that happening though, I would like input from someone who has actually tried it. We put them on a 12/12 because that's the lowest amount of time you want for darkness so they stay In bloom. That leaves 12 hrs on a normal 24 hr day for them to sit there absorbing light to make food, but what if we increased there light hours by just a few. I don't see how they wouldn't benifit from this.

well...I don't think anyone is trying to be negative - you just aren't hearing what you want to so it's coming off negatively...A simple timer can't reverse millions of years of evolution. You might be able to fool the plant into thinking it's a different season - but not a different planetI do have a few grows down, I heard someone else bring this up and it cought my curiosity so I tried looking it up only to find a bunch of other people who have asked the same thing but haven't gotten any straight answers, just a bunch of negativity from people who believe 24 hrs a day is law! Plants adapted to grow under the sun. So why can't we change the schedule a little bit?
It's not real common so you'll be hard pressed to find someone doing it / experience w/ this. Best bet is to just conduct some trials yourself and see how it fairs...worst case scenario you get a hermieNo I'm not, the answer I'm looking for is has anyone tried it? And if so what were your results?
