how and when to determine if the plant is male or female?

i got two ak's... they are about 3 weeks old... one is about 2-3 cm bigger also got the smell about a week ago... for the smaller one she has no smell at all or anything... does that mean its male or something... im just a first time grower and dont know how to determine if the plant is male or female before i see some buds growing haha

smell has no impact, another 10 to 14 days you should start seeing preflowers even in veg, or if you switch the lighting to12/12

You really cant tell with certainty with a plant before they start to bloom. After a week in 12/12, then the balls will begin, and you will know for sure. As long as you don't let the plant mature further, there will not be a problem. Good luck.

Thanks... I Have also another question about my recent fimming the ak's And i'll make a New thread with pictures in the next hour as soon as I make photos
