How breeding works… Seeds?

Hi,

I couldn't find a lot of information on this, but i was wondering how exactly female plants are impregnated… There were a couple seeds in the last harvest and not sure exactly how that works and if there is a way to prevent it.

I guess they must have been exposed to a male plant, but maybe just for a little second since there were only a couple seeds? It must have happened very early before we got the plants?

Does foliar spraying or things like that that would help wash the plant help prevent seeds?

Thanks!

What probably happened was your plant hermied without you noticing. Sometimes plants will throw out bananas half way through flowering and without looking very closely they are extremely hard to notice! No way to really prevent this, you just need to keep an eye out and give your plants as stress free of an environment that you can.

female plants are impregnated by pollen from a male, or a herm. if your girls come into contact with pollen, water sprayed onto the buds, will neutralize the pollen. problem with that is, you don't want to get your buds wet, can cause the kind of growth you don't want, lol. a couple of well placed oscillating fans can really help to dry the water though...
