How can a raise my humidity?

I have 9 sprouts in dixie cups and a 2 foot T5 cfl about 8 inches high above the plants. My humidity has ranged from 25%-37% but iv read that 50-60% is best for plants. Iv heard of people foliar spraying the air and plants continuously to keep the humidity up, but id be afraid that some water would get into my light and fuck it up, any suggestions?

wow... noone is ganna tell him to move the lights closer to his seedlings? I mean 8inches isnt HORRIBLY far away... but you might wanna get it alittle closer =P maybe about 4-5" for a T-5

Damn, you think so? my T5 is pretty hot and id be afraid that it'd burn it up. I was having problems with my plants the first day that sprouted, all the leaves were starting to brown up and wither away so backed them off a lil bit. They're 7 inches away from the light now and im just going to keep that height until they grow another 3 inches. My temps are ranging from 75-85 right now, which i think is a lil too high. Im gettin an exhaust fan tomorow so that should help out alot. But yea bubad, ill try that bucket trick, thanks

yeah you need intake and an exhaust to get fresh cool air in. then you can move your lights closer = healthier/happier plants.

I have to respectfully disagree. The current crop of seedlings I am growing now like the light to be about 8" away. Every time I lower the T5 lamps to within 6", the leaves start to curl under. And if I don't raise the lights quickly, the tips start to turn brown/yellow. Happened to me 4-5 days ago. Definitely a heat stress issue from the lights. The air temps never get above 83.

83 is a lil high unless thats the temp right under your light about 4" away. if its 83 off to the side of your lights then its prolly more like 90 right under them... hence the heat stress. if you can cool your lights enough you can get them pretty close, but your plants will grow fine either way.

Must be a serious t5 light you got.Mines a sunblaze strip and ive been keeping it about an inch and a half maybe 2 inches away from them and there fine.Actually a couple times i put the dome back on and put the light on top of it to moisten up the rockwool a little bit and they started to stretch if you cant tell.

i have a suggestion.... A HUMIDIFIER!!! Or the bucket w/ wick and fan works very well. Or you could come to my room and take some of the fking unwanted humidity w you.. maybe in a bag or box or someting?

Get a Mist Maker / Fogger. I have one in my setup, its only got 1 ceramic disk, i got it off ebay for like £12 all in. Im gonna get another for my big tent, but it has to have 3 ceramic disks so it can really blast out the mist. See one of my pics. Peace

like everyone else said, leaving an open bucket of water in your grow room will do the trick. Your temp sounds fine i like to keep it as close to 78 as possible.

N as far as your lights go nobody else can tell you what will work the best for your plants, you have to watch them and make best judgement. As all straines do have there diferences in what makes them grow better.

Sounds like your doin pretty good and yes i would def. get an exaust fan in, and get you a rotating fan keep your air movement going which will result in much healthier plants...

Keep up the good work.
