how can i tell the sex of my plant

My plant is about 9 inches tall. Still in veg, I plan on switching it when its a bit taller. I don't want it taller than 3ft. But my question is when should I start looking for signs of sex n what to look for. Any help would be nice

how long has it been vegging
if u want it 3 ft then flower it when it is 1.5 ft tall then after switching to flower should show signs of sex in 7-10 days
as for what to look for balls means male 2 white hairs in a v shape means female

I'm useing a 75 watt hps n to tupe flos. The hps is about 6 in away but I ve been haveing so problems with yellowing leaves n brown spot. So I tested my water/soil. Tap was bad so I got distilled. Soil didn't have enough n or k so I got some 24-8-16. But once I started useing that mix at half str its started to grown faster

then bump it up to 3/4 strength an keep a close eye on it
when u used tap water did u let it sit out uncapped for 24 hrs

I've been useing distilled with lime n nutes (half str) scents I tested my tap so I think it should b ok

I juiced a real lime n put it in my water to bring the ph down in my soil cuz the tap I was useing had a high ph

Well with the distilled its about 6 or 7 but with the lime n nutes in it its more of a 5 or 6 but my soil is much higher like 8
