How Close Should My Light be to My Plants?

how close should my light be to my plants? im 2 weeks in to flower and im not to sure how close to have my light.

What type of lighting are you using? If CFL 2-3 inches away from the plants, if using HPS hold your hand over the top of the plants, if it feels uncomfortable on the back of your hand after a few min the light is too close.

I have heard 18" is the closest a 1000 watt light should be to the top of a plant, another test is put your hand above the plant top, if it's uncomfortably warm then it's a problem for the plant also.

Perfect explenation right there...think about when your sitting in the sun and your skin gets a little hot, the plants can handle a little bit but you dont want your hand to be burning.
