How did you pop your RIU cherry? (poll)

So when you first joined, did you lurk or just jump right in? I treated it as a party where I knew no one. (we used to have to be subjected to those pesky, unpredictable, face to face encounters before covering all the social angles on Facebook)

I lurked for a few months I think and sort of got to know the personalities (many of which are no longer here sadly, miss them) then stuck a toe in the water.

Once I decided I was gonna grow again, the inhibitions fell from me like fridge magnets from a wetsuit. The rest is #riuhistory.

LOL my mind read 9in monster (RIU has ruined me)

Forgot about the grow section. I'd bet most on here got started posting there (duh) I am just a recreational/medicinal user so I landed here.. and sometimes in fitness and cooking. If TnT is dead i wander over to politics, then I have to shower afterward.

I came here and a couple other sites in '09. I was strictly a library student trying to learn indoor growing.

After I successfully had several grows, I started to think of this site as social entertainment more than a library, which it has become to me.

There's a lot of interesting, talented and likeable people here.

And then there's those silly ass socks.

I was balls out & post without forethought and porpoise. I think it was a cfl grow was my first post. But socially I posted on a mainliner topic where I said give the guy a break'' and was told by someone, not to be a knight in shining armor..lol.. Then my public meltdown was in my thread titled????¿????¿???? .

Back In 09 the site was full of heavy hitters on the grow room side, European breeders, seed bank peeps, Triangle growers etc. They would write great posts on subjects many knew little about. Those posts would raise many other Q's, which was frustrating to this, not very expd., grower. I joined so I could fill in some of the blanks, you might say.

I forgot about this. I started a dozen bags seeds sometime in July at the back of my veggie garden. 3/4 were male, something ate a couple, the last one was all sativa and took forever to finish. I remember it was good though.

I had lurked occasionally, on another forum that was shut down. I somehow ended up here, lurking and such.

I joined in 2011, after buying a tray of Pineapple Express cuttings. I wanted to find out who the breeder was, etc.
I lurked for a bit and then slam, I was busted!
I started growing again after a 5 year break and have found the time to post on here, regularly.
