How do I connect this hps and what do I need? Detailed pics!

Don't tell me to see an electrician, it needs to be incognito. What do I need? It came with no wires and is to be run in Europe I don't understand the pic with connections. Also, where you stick the wires in, there are two rows of holes... which is for what? What about the holes in the back? No, not butt holes. Can someone walk me through this? Thanks!

well the wiring schematic is pretty straight forward but google might be able to help.............

well to me that ballast is unlike one i have ever seen, but it should have either a plug in to another socket thing with the other end of that having an open white, black and green(ground) cables although i am inexperienced with 400s, they may not have grounds. Either way you take the black/whites and hook it to your socket (might be labelled but usually you can put either one on either one) now the plug im talking about is a small cable coming from the female end(not the AC side) and just plugs into the socket cord, or it may not (i know im really high right now and explaining is hard sorry bro) and then after you have connected the black/white wires into the socket and tightened the screws/clamps whatever your model has, and then depending if it has a ground just grounding it to metal, although i know alot of people who leave the ground untouched. Anyways man i know im really really hard to understand but i hope i could help you dude. From the looks of the diagram on the case it shouldnt need a ground, anyways diude good luck and hope i could help with my stoned ass.

the brown from the plug goes to live (F), the blue from the plug goes neutrall (N). Then LA goes in brown to the centre point of the ceramic lamp holder and LR goes to the Thread of the ceramic lamp holder. Twist the green and yellow together and stick it in one of the two connectors that has nothing on them. F and N incoming and LA and LR out going.

wrong colour wires for europe Live(HOT) is brown Neutral is blue, use that pic and these colours.

Ahh wasnt even paying attention to him being euro, LOL, I get so wrapped up I just see how to hook it up.

Eff, EU should convert to US Colors.. LOL

Although the 70hz should have been a redflag as were 60hz here in the states.

Yeah its pretty basic wiring from looking at it and the diagram is really simply made. Your not showing your cordsets your going to wire in this so its bit harder to say this color here that wire there as wire colors can vary depending on the maker but should have 3 wires on the wall cord your wiring to it and 3 that go to the socket cord. Might be different in the UK also. here in the states youd have a white wire a black and a green. The whites would be neutral the blacks positive and green the grounds. Then on your setup your gonna want to consintrate on the end there where you have the 18 screws.Your F s are positive hot and the N is neutral grounds. the unlabeled is open grounds.Then it shows clearly the bulb socket setup with LA is positive and LR in negative then the lunlabel screw again is for the ground wire.To me it looks like the 4 on top of the ballast are just optional places you can wire the ballast to if it was going to be hardwired to the wall or to a back up power supply for emergency use.

Well took me to long to respond but the diagram has the correct layout now just depends on where you get your wiring lol

I think you should ring someone up, your going to end up on the floor twitching man. Ask them if you can take the equipment to them. Thet will charge you next to nothing and it would be a two min job for them. You could end up fucking the bulb up if you dont get the pollaraties correct or fucking your self-up.

No, I will be smart and wait, post pics of the wires when they get here and consult my fellow stoners on riu. I mean some of your setups are rediculously word, so there have to be some who know how to do it correctly.

Follow my directions on the picture its simple.

From the lamp it doesnt mater which goes where,

From your plug right you should have 2 or 3 wire depending if there is a ground or not, your neutral wire will usually have a ribbing on it or a line on the plastic..

I dont think it could be drawn out any simpler for yeah.

Just give us a shout when you have the cable and i will walk you though it, i am a UK electrician and we have just moving over to the europe way of things.

Yeah call some one up who you have no idea is trustworthy, just make sure to tell him when you will not be home as well that way its easier for him to gank your stuff. DIY.

You wont get shocked if it aint plugged in, just plug it in a plug strip and when you want to test it flip the switch, trust me youll be ok as long as your not touching bare wire, dont worry bout blowing anythign either, it will work or it wont. SIMPLE

On those light holder the middle pin is supposed to be the live so that would have to come from the LA.
