How do I go about making a greenhouse 600w Digital HPS into a remote ballasted HPS with another decent reflector.

:confused:If you could point me in the direction of this thread I would be helpful because I can't find it.:confused:

Would I be able to run the two wires in to an IEC female instead of the E40 holder and use an upmarket reflector hood with a length of wire with no danger? Would I use a terminal strip inside the ballast to add a small length of wire to the IEC connector? It does to me seem very straight forward but I don't really have the know how in terms of wire length etc?

My bad, I thought you were using a Greenhouse (company name) ballast not a greenhouse ballst. thats easy. just remove the socket, figure what guage the wire is and extend the socket to whatever length you want. the iec connectors should work as long as the amp ratings are the same. im sure if im off base someone will be along shortly to correct me.

seperate the ballast from the socket and add proper gauge cord. Make sure you use the appropriate wire. If its too small you will have problems, and if the wire is to large or too long it wont get the juice to the bulb... There really is nothing to this. I have done it many a time with high bay fixtures.....
That you said above would be fine.... Just dont cross wires!
