Id like to be able to work on my plants (res change, spraying etc) during the night (safer for me this way) when the veg and flowering lights are off but how. Actually I wouldnt mind working on them when the lights are on but that probably confuse the plants...right?

As you can tell Im a super noob & have a stupid problem any advice would be great.

You could just switch the lighting cycle, swap it around. Make it daytime during your nighttime and vice versa.

Just work on them, lights on, lights off whatever. They are plants and slight interruptions in their photo period wont bum them out.

Terrible advice, flicking on and off lights during the plants dark period will mess things up for sure. Just change your light cycle to suit you, you are the grower you are in charge!

I am not saying a green light shouldnt be used; I was saying that just casually using any old light and flicking it on and off any old time as he was saying is bad advice.

??? wha

best would be to have the light cycle so that your awake and home when the lights are on, when its lights out no peeking some do with colored lights but why take a chance. 12/12 dark = lockdown.

Green lights?

Anyone look at a typical PAR curve? Photosynthesis doesn't seem to drop in the green range. (by much. only about 10%)

Light and Plants

adjust the lighting schedule.
BBB,
Is it not ~ 30% if you are in flower and giving red lights to the plant? I see the ~ 10% from the blue spectrum however. I still agree to not do anything in the dark...that's the ladies time....However I believe that this poster is under the assumption that he should not do any res changes in the light. I assume that is incorrect, but I am a soil noob and haven't even researched hydro yet:joint::peace:. I guess what I am saying is ...Even in flower is a 30% less use of the light worth risking?....I won't.
