how do these Lamp Hanger things work???!!!!

How do these Seechance brand Easy-Rollers work? I pull the string out, tighten it up with the butterfly nut, and it retracts the string at super sonic speeds. BUT, I can't pull it out with the butterfly nut tight.

It seems there is nothing about these that keep the lamp from shooting right back up to the ceiling. How can they be used to raise and lower a lamp?

I have used the yoyo's they are cheaply made and I had to place a weight on the top of the hood to keep it in place. Good luck hope they work for you.

Dammit lol i just bought those and was having same problem. Looks like i will have to get to the store for some chain. What a waste of money.

i use the ratcheting ropes with dual caribeaners. Then are 2 for 20 bucks and they hold 75 lbs each. A bit pricey but much easier than moving chains everytime.

I took some old window blinds, cut off every thing i did not need, mounted in the ceiling, they support the 5 lb flourscent light just fine so far.
