How Do They Look?

Everything is just over 3 weeks old now. I transplanted my rockwool starters into these cups with soil until my square pots arrive that I ordered.

I had a few plants that didn't make it already, and I had to toss them....I have 1 plant with some a brown tip at the end of the leaf, and another with a huge spot right in the middle of the leaf.

Also they seem like they are becoming a lighter green color. I noticed a lot of the lowest leaves yellowing so i added a very very very very small dose of nute yesterday when i transplanted them. im thinking when i mix some more water i should up the dosage. i think they could use it

thoughts?

CAN YOU SEE THE SMALL BROWN SPOT AT THE TIP OF THE LEAF

HERE IS THE ONE WITH THE GIANT SPOT

My cabinet will be finished up next week. Will have much more light then so hopefully that will speed everything up

It's been 3 weeks since I've had them under light. I'm using this t5 setup right now High Tech Garden Supply

I know it isn't much. Next week when my cabinet is finished I'll be upping the anti =]

I just inspected all the plants a bit more. I noticed just about every plant has a teeny tiny amount of yellowing at each tip.

I'm thinking it might have been because i havent added any nutes. im hoping since i put a small amount of nutes in yesterday it will start to clear up. hopefully time will tell

It honestly cant be nute burn...because fox farms called for adding 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water, and i only added 1 TEASPOON to 1 gallon of water.

i had planned on doubling that each time i had to mix another gallon until i reached the recommended 2tablespoons

from everything ive read up on it seems my plants just need
Nitrogen
Phosphorous
K - potassium

let me snap a shot of the leaf tips and see what you guys thinks

alright...here are the close ups...

the plants with more yellow on them seem to have the lower leaves which are all yellow like in the first pic below

from what i read seems i just need to let the nutes do the job i added last night and it should clear everything up....my red stems, and bottom leaves being yellow mean the plants need nutes...next gallon i mix up ill add 1tablespoon of nutes which is still 1/2 the recommened dosage

I'm just a noob and going by what i can read and see

if anyone can comment on the pics ive attached and let me know if they agree with my assumptions of the color being from a lack of nutes

more lights, and move them closer, CFLs can almost touch without being harsh to plants
how many watts are you running? Base is 100w for each plant, which is why you need ALOT of CFLs to be successful

I am way under the requirements right now. Only using 4,000 lumens of t5 power Next week my cabinet will be finished and making use of 30,000 lumens...im hoping once they go under those lights they will start growing like weeds =]

basically plant roots thrive off o2, its best if you can mix some hydroton or lavarock(higromite) in the middle of your cup between soil, this will allow for air pockets.

The stems of your plants also look elongated which means the plants are stretching for light, lower you lights yet make sure you have cool air circulating in the room to keep ambient temp low.

make some reflectors for for plants leaf undersides. Best way to do this is to make PACMAN w/ mouth slightly opened cutouts of white cardboard slighty larger than the top of the cups circumfrence. You can get some at any local office supply place or walmart. this will reflect enough light for the bottom of the leaves which will help.

MAIN POINTS:

24/7 lights until first true set of leaves appear

16/8 lights (on/off) to promote female sex (roots grow fastest when lights are off)

make air pockets in soil for greater o2 levels in soil

if possible make tiny holes in bottom of cup, large enough for water, small enough to keep soil in and dip cup in whatever you water plant with but only half way, only half is very wet so roots grow down faster and seek water downward rather than all over (if you water from the top roots will grow at a higher degree rather than a lower degree)

lower lights and make reflects so plants can make more usage of the most light possible

have good air circulation

good idea on the dipping cups...i wonder how long to dip them for though...i have like 4-6 small holes in the bottom already..i cant imagine much water sucking in through them though..ill give that a try next watering time

you are using t5 bulbs?? what length? they work great, but you need more than just one.

im currently using 5 48in t5 6500k bulbs, they are 5,000 lumens each, so im working with 25k lumens, perfect for growing entire veg

try this then, before you dip cups, make another small hole on the side of your cup half way....when you dip your cups and water comes through that side hole, you have dipped them enough and you can take it out....put the cup somewhere it can drain excess water....

to check when the next time you need to water, just take a wooden toothpick and stick it in the hole that you made on the side, leave it there for a min then take it out, if it comes out really wet and dark then you don't need to water, if it is somewhat dry and nearly the same color as it was when you stuck it in, then you should water again that day or the next

i call this technique, lady phucking, lol...j/k

Thanks for help all. I've did my last watering with just distilled water. Plants have been growing like crazy! Must be because they have recovered from the shock of transplanting into the dirt.

iit is nute burn, they are way to young to be using nutes with,
also they are way small for three weeks, this is what a plant should look like at three weeks

Ya..I know they are very small for their age....I only had them under 4,000 lumens and they should have been moved into soil over 2 weeks ago. they were rootbound in the tiny rockwool starters i used weeks ago. was my fault =P

Plants will all be moving into my new cabinet today or tomorrow (depends on what ups shows up with my lights).

Will be put under 20,000 lumens for now. Hopefully will add another 10,000 lumens down the road.

Here is my cabinet https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/116885-new-cabinet-just-about-finished.html
