How do they look?

16 days from germ. I understand they had some nute problems before and they seem a little heat stressed. Other then that how is there height and overall appearance. The yellow/brown spots on the tips of the first 3 leaf set were from 90 degree temps and 15% humidity. They have a humidifier keepin the RH around 55% now and they seem to love it. They are about 4"x4", seem to be very short for how developed they are. What are your thoughts?

I see white spots on your leaves, check on the underside for spider mite.

Elsewise, they look good.

Have fun.

Im also looking for advice on topping/fimming/lst. Im not sure I want to lst being that its my first grow and yield isnt my biggest concern. Although Im wondering with how short her nodes are and how fat she is becoming if topping or fimming should even be done. Any advice on whether I should, if so, when do you think a good time is?

I know! terrible enough its from the drywall that I cut out to make my exhaust fan. I blew em off with some CO2 after noticing it in the pics. Really wanted to move the plants outta there before I shit drywall dust all over em. Bad idea, next time im moving em.

Little bit of what looks like nute burn in the first pic - although the newer growth appears free from it, so maybe you already solved that.

Lovely looking little plants apart from that. Hope the grow goes well. :-)

I bet they are under cfl's . maybe the lights are too far away, did you just set them up or have you used the system before? if they are getting everything they need they will start to grow 5 leaflet typical leaves within 3 weeks or pretty quick. with the dwc and 100 % hydroton or clay pellets they also need plenty of light and changing the solution every week. hope it goes smoothly:-o

They are under a 400 Watt Mh. Lights were about 18 inches from the plants for there first two weeks on 24/0. Moved em up in hopes that they would grow a bit taller. You cant really tell from the pictures but the new node is a 5 leaf set.

The burn you are speaking of was actually a deficiency (i believe not totally sure), was running straight distilled for the first week with almost no ppms. Added some nutes and it went away. Just in case anyone is trying to learn from my mistakes. Could be wrong though. Thanks a ton bigby, I enjoy reading all of your posts. Mad props

I thought about doing lst during grows for a couple of years and didn't. Once I did, I wondered why I hadn't before.

It is a very easy process and can bring stunning results (check out my latest post in the grow link in my sig for pics). I left mine till late as I was planning on vegging for a long time. But once you have about 5 nodes it should be practical. The decision really comes down to how long you were planning on vegging imo. If it's only a month then maybe don't bother; 2 months and train away I say. :-)

Ah, ya learn something each day (many things coming on here). I thought it must be an issue you had in hand, too much quality to whole set up for that not to be the case.

And thank you, very nice of you to say so. Peace out dude! :-)

Yea, Ive read that lst is somewhat simple. My concern is, like yourself and others have said, starting the lst when they have 5 nodes or when there about a foot tall. My plant is only 4 inches or so and it working on its 5th node. Should I bend it over when its that short or wait for it to get about a foot?

I would wait. But that depends on how long you are willing to wait. If you don't have the time to wait I'm not sure I'd bother.

If there's one thing I have learned from all of you, it is that patience is a must. I will wait as long as I have too! The room has enough space for em to be 6 footers so I was thinking lst at about 1'. Let em veg until there about 2 1/2' - 3' and then send em on in to flower. Hoping they dont triple in size lol. I guess im worried that if I dont train em at all that I will be dissapointed with my yield. Im hoping that two five footers untrained would give me more then 2 ozs. If I can get around 5 I would be very pleased. Is this achievable without training?
