How Do You Clean Used Rockwool?

Can somebody please reply quick?. I finally got my seeds!!!!!!!!!!!!

why would you want to reuse rockwool? i dont think you can reuse that stuff

i dont think u can reuse it not sure but u can try to clean it,the only thing i can think of is to boil the rockwool and let it set in fresh water and then it could be reused at that point

What i meant was, I have some rockwool cubes... They have been sitting out in my shed for about a couple of months...

Do i have anything to worry about b4 i use them?

fasho....but you still have to rehydrate/soak them

ah, so they are not 'used' just 'old new stock.'

If they have been sitting around in the open as opposed to kept in a plastic bag or a closed cardboard box or something, they probably will have picked up some some mould or fungi spores, which are everywhere anyway- including on new cubes- just not as many as when cubes are left lying about for a long time in the open.

Just use 50% grade H2O2 at 1ml/L water for soaking your cubes, all will be fine. You'd want to use H2O2 in your pH 5.0 cube pre-soak solution and clone watering solution anyway. Cheap insurance.

i would soak them in a dilute bleach soultion maybe 15% for a bit then flush them out real good with water before you use them, if you start off with fungus you will be battling it your whole grow more than likely
