How do you cleant the probe on your PH meter

I don't have any cleaning solution for it and I think I have a salt build up on the probe the meter is accurate but it takes forever to get there. I was thinking of letting it sit in some ph down for 30 min. hoping the acidity would help break down some of the salts so if you have any advice I would appreciate it Thank You

The cleaning solution would be cheaper than a new probe after it's been in a acid solution.
