How do you guys dry the large colas

image.jpeg took down 3 plants yesterday that had fairly big top colas. These 3 weighed 10 oz. wet. My question is, do you guys break big colas down to smaller buds, or dry them all at once. I don't want any mold problems, so I was just curious what others do with these.

I'm going to say you're not going to have any problems with mold. Not unless your RH there is through the roof. Those nugs don't look too dense, which is pretty much the 2nd factor in considering mold potential. They also look like they were taken early.

Just leave them hanging until the outside is dry/crispy to the touch and those smaller stems snap, then put them in a paper bag for a little while and then jar them. How long they take to dry out will depend on the humidity and temperature in that room. They look sufficiently trimmed (less trimming means less cuts for moisture to escape).

Anything under 24 inches I hang singularly,

anything over 24 I prefer to cut down

colas over 3 feet(36") or 1meter

I dry real slow and carefully mark

U don wanna loose track of ur hard efforts

and yeah take a pic

always a good idea to record the wet and dry weights

the dry weight being the most important

good luck

I took them because there were quite a few amber trichs. It was exactly 8 weeks. They feel pretty dense, but they are flourescent grown. Best I could do with flourescents. Can't do HPS. I'll just dry them slow. With all the other buds I'm looking at 4 oz dried off three plants with my setup. That last a while.

Fox farm big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, and cha ching. Ocean forest soil mixed with Sunshine #4. They were about 2 1/2 footers.
