How do you make an autoflower strain from scratch?

I'm wondering how the autoflower strain was made. How do I breed a strain of my own without buying any seeds to make an autoflower seed. This is quite a funny guess, but I'd say starting off a grow from 12/12 and breeding that, I know LOL, just a guess.

So, how the hell do these seedbank companies go about making autoflowers?

And that's it? I then have a plant that has an autoflowering regiment?

You will have to go through a number of generations with back crossing to be able to get it to be consistent. Then there is the issue of potency with AF strains. So really you would have to be very selective with the crosses keeping the AF trait but also looking for a quality strain. It's not as simple as itseems and would take quite a bit of time to make a quality one.

Find another strain with Autflowering properties and you will most likey get a more stable Autoflowering strain as opposed to breeding a Auto with a regular strain
