IMHO "yes" it could create over watering issues....but what the hell would I know about flushing....as I've never done it, nor do I intend toOverwatering is more about frequency than amount, if I give a massive amount of water to correct pH and nutrient problems (like a gallon per 5 gallon pot) once a week would that be overwatering?
Yes? No?
Drainage is what allows flushing without overwatering. Lousy drainage equals dead roots.Proper drainage helps.
This is my methodLift the pot
note the weight
too lite water the plant
too heavy wait another 5 days
...Easy!

yeah 1 gallon of water for 5 gallons of soil once a day sounds like evaporation issuesA gallon a day seems a bit over the top ......be careful how u pass info on espetially to newbs....
Overwatering never lets the soil dry. The soil ph rises as the soil dries. So, in addition to creating an unhealthy environment for the roots, the plant doesn't experience the full range of nutrient availability.Overwatering is more about frequency than amount, if I give a massive amount of water to correct pH and nutrient problems (like a gallon per 5 gallon pot) once a week would that be overwatering?

oops… the background:
5 gallon pot but only a 30 day old seedling. about 7 inches tall at this point, 5 nodes.
400 watts metal hallide.
Humidity 30%
Temp ~80 F
This is part of a few threads he's posted. He posted photos of what could be mg def. Someone may have mentioned mn def. He was considering crushing a vitamin as a mn source. I suggested mn exists in such tiny amounts, I'd go with more likely culprits like mg def or nutrient lockout/imbalance. I suggested either 1/2-1tsp/gal epsom salt or flushing would have more probability of improvement than using a vitamin to give mn.Third, there is no reason to flush unless you are burning them up with a bunch of stuff.
