I have used over again and again the soil for the last 16 months. It seems to be alright

Is that ok or should I change the new soil !

Thanks

as long as u are using nutes and leeching the soil often, then cleaning out the roots sifting it and baking it in the oven to kill any insects its ok. you might get away with just sifting and leeching is you dont have any bugs, but it makes the possibility of infestation higher

hope that helps

I just cooked tons of soil in our gas oven. It smells good too. I just hope it does not kill all the good bacteria or denature compounds that carry nitrogen.

I think maybe Jimbizzale may be right. If problems arise, there is more variables to have to worry about and eliminate as culprit with old soil. Except, carrying soil into Apts is not easy and Fox Farm Ocean soil is $30/bag where i live.

No because the soil after harvesting could have some type of contamination that you can not see.

Which is why you should not reuse.
