How long do i vegetate my marijuana plant?

Hey everyone. Im growing my first this year and its doing great so far ... I do have one question though. its a mids or high mids strain. i was wondering how long do i vegetate my plant? it stays in the sun all day, and comes in at night. its a week an 1 day old. how much longer do i veg? thanks!

as long as you want too, just switch the lighing cycle to 12/12 to flower.

I dont want it to get really big. i heard it doubles or triples in size when flowering. what is the average time to veg? can someone please tell me.

im on my first grow too but im trying to veg mine for like 5 or 6 months i planted them at the end of January im just going to let them do what they do

Alot of ppl veg for a month or so. Usually does double in size unless it's a sativa, then it can get even bigger. Another alternitive is, you can do 12/12 right from seed. You said you're putting it outside?

it stays outside for the light.. from the time sun comes up, until it goes down. should i bring it in 2 hours earlier for flowering?

12/12 from seed is possible...but your yield will be smaller and some say the potency is hurt as well. I'd say 3 weeks minimum...5 or 6 weeks is nice.

I don't think the potency would be affected by doing 12/12 from seed..........also when you do 12/12 from seed, it's still vegging for a couple weeks anyways, cause the plant still needs to mature to be able to flower.
Well it depends on where you are and how cold it is outside, do plan on leaving it outside to grow? If it don't get below 55 degrees, then just leave it outside and nature will take it's course, and if height is an issue, then you can use some topping or lst to keep it low
