I have some really unique and gorgeous sativas that were planted in March. Most are about 1/2 into flower but two are 10 feet tall and just starting to flower! I’m just making sure im feeding them correctly. Could it be due some being root bound? I’m not too worried and I’ve put in ALOT of work as you all know BUT PLEASE CAN ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE WITH LONG SATIVAS TELL ME WHAT IS THE BEST FERT I CAN GIVE THEM HALFWAY THROUGH FLOWER AND WHAT CAN I USE FOR ORGANIC PESTICIDE FOLIAR SPRAY? I could really use the help, thanks!!!

I did a whole tent grow last year of Ace Seeds Malawi, Golden Tiger, Golden Tiger x Panama(x2) and Killer A5 Haze. The shortest one to finish was my Malawi at 14.5 weeks of 12/12 or less lighting. My others finished around 16w, with my Golden Tiger being the longest at 18.5 weeks. Grew her the year before that and also took the same amount of time, but it is so worth it. Good luck with your gals

Sativas tend to take longer to start budding as well as run longer. My Laughing Buddha took 16+ weeks, and my Durban close to that. I’m growing Ace Malawi and Golden Tiger now along with Puck, you can check my journal and see how much taller and behind in bud development the golden tiger is compared to the Puck, but she will make up for it in the final weeks.

Any thoughts on pest foliage spray?

That Malawi is like a whole different animal, most unique strain I think I’ve smelled. It’s not as big as the others but it is so dense. The four top kolas grew into 2!

I'm growing my first sativa leaning plants this year. Two if my plants are Chemdog X Cookies bagseed. Found 11 beans in bottom of 2 #. It has grown like crazy, stretched like crazy, stinks like crazy, but the flowers aren't very big. Tons of bud sites but they aren't getting much size to them compared to the rest of my plants. It appears to be a very happy plant IMO.

I'm wondering how common it is for sativa type plants to wait towards the end to both stack and bulk. I've read some threads about it. Hoping that's what I've got here... but won't know til it's finished, which will be end of November at the earliest.

Yall experienced sativas that seem to delay their flower work til towards the end? Or is that SOP?

Just from my experience with this run…I went on a trip and my wife forgot to water for 4 days, when I got back they went into survival mode and started shooting pistils out and doubled in resin count. The bottom leaves turned yellow cause they were sucking the nutes out of them. Now I don’t recommend this but it jumpstarted the flowering process for my Sativas. Now that I’ve got them all healthy again and all fed up, they are stacking and stretching with arm size buds. You will start seeing density second half of flowering. I was worried too. One thing I learned though which is very important. When they get somewhat shocked into flower, these half ass calyxes and pistils tend to die off after the colas start producing regular healthy calyxes. I needed to go through each kola and pluck out the dead ones cause they die and mold up fast. Just my experience though. Good luck. Don’t forget to keep up on organic pesticide spray, these chicks take a long time to finish and there’s a lot of time for pests to party!

Interesting and curious.

I'm growing in regeneratively managed pasture that's rested since January. Lots of biomass and bugs. Seems to have a balance thing going on. Spiders galore. Knock on wood... so far, so good. I've only watered thus far. Was almost a solid stand of red clover this spring that lodged over and formed a mulch mat. It's pretty dang neat. I do have a tea brewing. Figure it might give the soil a boost.

Patience is tough, though! Been so long since I've had fresh flower... I'm ready.

Hope you get fantastic produce, my friend!

What a beautiful scene you painted. I’m right there, I can smell it. Tea is awesome and I recharge with it every other week just cause I’m in pots. I’m hoping my spiders can get to work as well. Happy growing!

I have Malawi from 3 different companies, TLT, Ace, and TRSC. The ace plants grow more like hybrids, I would not call them true landraces, the other 2 are barely flowering, the TLT Malawi gold is the farthest behind, I'll take some pics here in a bit

How does mine look compared to yours? Anyone look similar to it?

My growmie! Those babies look like they're gonna yield amazingly! Would be so awesome to have just one of your girls haha. I would love to do sativa but man, almost double the tent time compared to hybrids, esp compared to a Fastbuds strain. Good work!

Thanks! I gotta say, they have never looked so good. I think putting them on the patio so close to people going in and out, it kept rodents, birds, bugs etc away and they actually came out looking like indoor. The buds are rock solid, I’m sure it’s the strain mostly but earthworm castings, gai green fert and compost tea at the RIGHT time can change a beginner to a novice. Also I always either make my own soil or use ffof but this time I tried Bhang 420 and I gotta say, I will be using it from now on. It’s so light but still retains moisture well and cheaper. How’s yours looking? Almost time for trimjail and 2 months of curing.

My grow is just starting haha. 2 seedlings, one praying with just cotyledons, the other with first set of leaves the size of dimes lol. The faster one(for now) is Bubblegum Sherb, the only cotyledons seedling is Godfather OG.

This is the first time I've grown with "official" seeds from a breeder, so hopefully they grow quick compared to the local strain of unknown name I'd grown my previous 2 times.

Nice! Well get ready cause growing from seed is so much more fulfilling. They are all around healthier and happier as you know. I’m assuming they are feminized? What sort of lights and medium are you using? Did you use any Mykos in the soil?

My stuff is all budget haha. 2x 100watt Geciliaoran G1000 LED(LM304H), so like knockoff SF1000's with the H diodes. 32x32x60 tent, again knockoff brand.

My medium is something like 40% coco/peat, 20% perlite, 40% organic soil. But it's been recycled from my previous cannabis grow, and then peppers I grew afterwards. I went through with my hands to help break down root strands and shred the leaves. Then I added a little bit of FF: Big Bloom and Fish Fertilizer to my watering to breathe some life into the medium - microbes and whatnot. Mixed it like 3x throughout the week before planting. Seems to be working.

I also just minutes ago cracked a seed that hadn't germinated like the other 2(another Bubblegum Sherb). I'd heard if ya got nothing left to lose it can't hurt haha. Well I squeezed a little harder than I meant too and literally popped half the seed shell across the room . Granted what was inside was a small tap with baby green leaves curled up in there. So I threw it back in the dirt with a gentle covering of soil and put a few drops of water on it:confused: . Maybe something will come of it lol
