How long does it take for your seeds to usually sprout?

I'm trying different methods in sprouting seeds the fastest for my future grows. One box I got the fluorescent light running 24 hours. Another box I have the usual 18/6 and another box I have no light just darkness until they sprout up. I planted 2 and a 1/2 days ago and neither of the boxes have sprouted (go figure). So how long does it take for your seeds to sprout up (after germination of course).

it really depends, when i germinated seeds i take a paper towel wet it and place it on a plate, next i place the seeds on the wet towel and then put another towel on top wetting it also, next i store it in a dark place...it usually takes no more than 36-48 hours before i see the first signs of the root tip, it can take longer just keep the towel moist and have patience, good luck with your grow
